Small Delivery Jobs, Same Professional Movers
Not every move is a full apartment or home. Sometimes you just need one or two heavy items moved safely. DMV Moving Help offers furniture delivery and single-item moves across Washington DC, Maryland, and Northern Virginia using the same trained crews, trucks, and protective materials we use on full moves.
- Facebook Marketplace, OfferUp, Craigslist, and in-store furniture purchases
- Couch, sectional, or loveseat deliveries between homes or apartments
- Bedroom sets and mattresses from store or storage to your home
- Appliances like fridges, washers, dryers, and stoves (access permitting)
- Single large pieces (armoires, dressers, tables, desks, etc.)
How Furniture Delivery Pricing Works
Furniture deliveries use our standard hourly rate for a 2-mover crew and truck, with a smaller time window than a full move:
- 2 Movers + Truck: $195/hr
- Typical time: ~1.5–2.5 hours for most single-item deliveries
- Includes: truck, fuel, blankets, and shrink-wrap for your item(s)
- Travel fee: based on distance between pickup and drop-off
Most local furniture deliveries end up in the $275–$425 range once time and travel are factored in. Exact cost depends on distance, building access (stairs, elevators, long walks), and how many pieces you’re moving. For full details on our rates and travel fees, visit the Pricing page.
Common Furniture Delivery & Single-Item Scenarios
Marketplace or Store Pickup
- You buy a couch, table, or dresser online or in-store
- We pick it up, wrap it, and deliver it to your home
- We place it in the correct room and remove pads/shrink-wrap
Storage Unit → Home Delivery
- 1–3 pieces of furniture kept in storage
- We carefully pull items from your unit and load the truck
- We deliver, place, and reassemble basic pieces as needed
Home-to-Home Furniture Swap
- Moving a couch, bed, or dining set between friends or family
- Ideal for gifting or selling items locally
Appliance Delivery
- Refrigerators, washers, dryers, and other large appliances
- We wrap and secure them for transport (hookup not included)
What’s Included With Our Furniture Deliveries
- Professional movers experienced with tight hallways and apartment access
- Clean, well-equipped moving truck sized appropriately for your item(s)
- Furniture blankets and shrink-wrap for protection during transport
- Basic disassembly and reassembly of simple pieces (bed frames, table legs, etc.)
- Placement of your item in the correct room, not just curbside drop-off
For multiple items or a mix of boxes and furniture, it may make more sense to treat it as a small apartment move instead. If you’re unsure, we can advise you based on your list.
What Affects Furniture Delivery Time & Cost?
Distance
Longer drives between pickup and drop-off add to the total time and travel fee. Shorter, in-city deliveries are usually quicker and more affordable.
Building Access
Stairs, long hallways, limited parking, or tricky entrances can add extra time. Elevators can help, but waiting for them still counts toward the job duration.
Item Size & Weight
Oversized couches, solid wood pieces, or heavy appliances may require more time to move safely, especially around tight corners or stairwells.
Number of Pieces
A true “single item” will be quicker than a small set (for example, a couch, chair, and coffee table together). We can still bundle small sets into a short, efficient job.
Disassembly & Reassembly
If we need to take legs off tables, remove doors, or partially disassemble items, that will add some time but helps protect your furniture and walls.
Is Furniture Delivery Right For You?
Choose a furniture delivery / single-item move if:
- You only need 1–3 large pieces moved
- You’re buying or selling a piece locally and need help with transport
- You don’t want to rent a truck or ask friends to lift heavy items
If you have multiple rooms’ worth of furniture or a mix of boxes and furniture, take a look at our Apartment Movers or Labor-Only Movers services instead.
